Lauren Robson is a qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and Qualified Teacher Status, and twenty years’ experience across mainstream and specialist settings.

She started tutoring because of a pattern she kept seeing in the classroom: bright children quietly falling behind, not because they couldn’t do the work, but because one gap had never been filled and everything after it had been built on top of it. Find the gap, teach it properly, and the confidence comes back fast.

Lauren is Enhanced DBS checked, fully insured, and works with children from Reception through to GCSE, in person across Kent and online.

Eleanor is a QTS-qualified educator, curriculum and pastoral leader with eight years’ experience working with young people aged 11–19. Her academic background has shaped a particular interest in the factors that influence educational outcomes. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Sociology, specialising in the Sociology of Education, and has long been interested in the ways that social, personal and educational circumstances can affect a young person’s experience of school. This has underpinned a strong commitment to equity in education and to the fundamental right of every child to access an education that enables them to thrive.

A significant part of Eleanor’s experience lies in curriculum design and adapting learning to individual needs. As Curriculum Lead for Philosophy, Religion and Ethics, she has led curriculum planning across Years 7–11, rewritten and fully resourced schemes of learning, and developed teaching materials to support varied starting points and needs. She also provides curriculum guidance and CPD to non-specialist colleagues, giving her a detailed understanding of how curriculum design, sequencing and accessibility can influence student progress.

Differentiation and Wave 1 intervention are embedded in Eleanor’s everyday teaching practice. She routinely adapts explanations, tasks, questioning, resources and levels of scaffolding to meet different needs within the same learning experience. Her experience working closely with SENCOs and pastoral colleagues has also developed her understanding of the wider factors that can affect a student’s engagement with education and the importance of identifying and addressing barriers to learning.

Her pastoral leadership provides an additional dimension to her work with students. Eleanor has shared pastoral responsibility for approximately 400 students, including supporting attendance, behaviour, safeguarding and individual welfare concerns, alongside mentoring and communication with parents and carers. This experience translates particularly well to small-group tutoring, where understanding the individual learner, building an accurate picture of their needs and creating the right conditions for learning are central to effective progress.

Eleanor is based in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, where she lives with her husband, their two daughters and Julian, their Ragdoll cat. Julian has also developed a particular interest in tutoring sessions and will happily join in whenever he is allowed — usually without having completed the required reading first.

Adam Terrell is an experienced teacher and school leader whose career has taken him across grammar, independent and specialist education – giving him the opportunity to work with an enormous range of young people, colleagues and school communities.

A graduate in Sport Studies and Business, Adam began his career in education as a teacher before moving into pastoral and senior leadership. He has held senior leadership positions in grammar, independent and special education schools, with responsibilities spanning pastoral care, safeguarding, behaviour, attendance, student leadership and the wider life of the school. He has served as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Head, as well as leading younger year groups and key stages.

Despite spending plenty of time in leadership meetings, Adam has always considered himself a teacher first. He has taught across Business, PE and Geography, and particularly enjoys the relationships, humour and unpredictability that come with working directly with young people. Sport remains a particular passion, both professionally and personally.

Adam is especially interested in creating schools where high expectations and strong pastoral care sit comfortably alongside one another. He believes pupils thrive when they feel known, supported and valued – but also when the adults around them are prepared to challenge them, encourage independence and occasionally tell them what they need to hear rather than simply what they want to hear.

Away from school, Adam is a husband and dad of two, a keen gym-goer and golfer, and someone who is rarely short of a new project or business idea. He enjoys travel, sport and spending time with his family – and remains firmly convinced that working in education is one of the most rewarding, entertaining and occasionally ridiculous jobs there is.
